Clark Creek Natural Area

The Clark Creek Natural Area in southwestern Mississippi comprises more than 700 acres in the steep Loess Bluffs, featuring some 50 waterfalls, ranging from 10 to 30 feet in height. Bird watching, hiking, photography, and botanizing are available at Clark Creek on established trails.

In the middle of Tylertown and meandering along the sandy banks of scenic Magee's Creek is the paved walking trail known simply as "The Trail of Seven Bridges".  The Children's Playground is adorable and open all year.  From Thanksgiving day until New Year's Eve the park comes alive from 6pm to 8:30pm with the largest display of Christmas Lights in the area.   The pavilion and the outdoor stage are available for parties during other times of the year.  Adjacent Camper Hookups are also available at the adjacent Southwest Events Center for groups of 10 or more.   For rental information, contact the Town of Tylertown at (601)876-4011.

Walkers Bridge Water Park

Walker's Bridge Water Park consists of 5 acres in Walthall County off of Highway 48.  The park is located on the Bogue Chitto River and its facilities include: pavilion, boat ramp and picnic tables.  A great place to enjoy the river, Walkers Bridge Water Park is operated and maintained by Walthall County.

Gloster Arboretum

Founded in 1965 by the late Sara and Frank Gladney and now managed by the John James Audubon Foundation, the Gloster Arboretum has 400 carefully preserved acres of prime birding habitat.  Aloft among the many magnificent native plant species found in Mississippi such as the beech, magnolias, stewartia and mountain laurel, visitors can find many of the native and migrating bird species that call the preserve home.
